Packing options

Choose how much packing you want

Every move includes wrapping and loading. Packing is up to you, and each option is priced as its own line on your quote.

You pack, we move

You pack your boxes before the day and we wrap, load, move and place everything. Boxes, tape and paper can be dropped off in advance.

We pack for you

The crew packs your home before the move, usually the day before, so you only need to keep out what you use overnight.

We pack and unpack

We pack, move and then unpack at the new home, putting things in cupboards and taking the empty boxes away.

The process

  3. Pack and load

Fragile items are packed if you chose packing, then furniture is wrapped and loaded.

  4. Deliver

Everything is unloaded into the right rooms and beds and wardrobes are rebuilt.

Local details that change how a move runs

Older homes near the centre

Modern Woking was laid out from the mid-1860s after the railway arrived, so some streets near the centre have older homes where large furniture may need measuring or dismantling to get through. We wrap and measure large pieces before they move.

Post-war estates and new flats

Council estates followed after both world wars, and high-rise flats were completed in the town centre in 2022. Flats need the floor, lift and parking checked before the day.

Parking on the day

On-street suspensions and waivers are handled by Surrey County Council. A suspension costs £90 per bay for up to three days. A waiver costs £35 but does not guarantee a space.

Allow for the railway

Only two roads cross the railway in the town centre and both are busy at peak times, which matters for moves between the north and south of Woking.

FAQs

House removals: common questions

How much does a house removal in Woking cost?

A cost guide updated in September 2026 gives typical local move prices in London and the South East of £400 to £950 for a studio or 1-bed, £650 to £1,600 for a 2-bed, £1,150 to £2,400 for a 3-bed and £1,950 to £3,500 or more for a 4-bed. Your written quote is based on your own home, access and dates.

How long does a house move take?

Most local moves of a 2 or 3-bed home take a full day from the first item out to the last item in. Long carries from the door to the van, flats without a lift and larger homes add time, and your quote will say what to expect.

Will you take apart and rebuild furniture?

Yes. Beds, wardrobes and tables that will not fit through doors in one piece can be dismantled at the old home and rebuilt at the new one. Mention them on the quote form so the crew brings the right tools.

What should I do before moving day?

Defrost the freezer the day before, keep documents, keys, medicines and chargers with you, and check parking at both addresses. If your street needs a parking suspension, apply to Surrey County Council at least ten days before.

Do you move flats with stairs or a lift?

Yes. Tell us the floor and whether there is a lift at each address. In larger blocks, such as the town centre towers, ask the building manager whether the lift and loading area need booking for your date.

Can I move on a Saturday?

Yes. We work Monday to Saturday. Saturdays fill up first, so book early if you need one.

Do you move pianos and other heavy or fragile items?

Yes, as long as we know about them in advance. Tell us about pianos, large mirrors, artwork, antiques or gym equipment when you ask for a quote. Heavy and delicate items may need extra people, special wrapping or equipment, and your quote will list this so there are no surprises on the day.

Should I empty my wardrobes and drawers?

Wardrobes are usually emptied so they can be moved or taken apart safely. Drawers holding light clothes can sometimes stay full if the unit is sturdy, but heavy items, liquids and anything breakable should come out. We confirm what can stay in when we plan your move.

Is there anything you cannot move?

We cannot carry hazardous items such as petrol, gas bottles, paint thinners, fireworks or anything else flammable or corrosive. Cash, jewellery, passports, keys and important documents are best kept with you on the day.
